چکیده

Abstract To assess the meshing quality of spiral bevel gears, static characteristics are usually checked under different contact paths to simulate deviation in footprint from design point heel or toe gear flank caused by assembly error two axes. However, effect path on dynamics lubricated conditions has not been reported. In addition, most studies regarding gears disregard condition because complicated solutions mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL). Hence, an analytical friction model with a highly efficient solution, whose coefficient and film thickness predictions agree well results well-validated EHL for is established present study facilitate gears. The obtained reveal significant dynamic response efficiency systems. Finally, comparison numerical transmission experimental measurements indicates good agreement.

The Mathematical Model of Spiral Bevel Gears - A Review

The spiral bevel gear (SBG), with its high contact ratio, high strength and smooth driving, is widely used to transmit dynamic power in various mechanical products, including vehicles, mining machinery, aerospace engineering, and helicopters [1] to [4]. Typical SBGs are shown in Figs. 1a and b. The SBG has been a subject of research for almost a century, and there is a significant amount of lit...

Geometry Definition and Contact Analysis of Spherical Involute Straight Bevel Gears

A practical application of the spherical involute surface to the forged straight bevel gears is provided and demonstrated in this work. Conjugate (pure involute) theoretical surfaces are developed from the input design parameters. The surfaces are modified to suit the actual application (automotive differential). The unloaded (or low load) tooth contact analysis of modified surfaces is performe...

Design and Manufacture of Spiral Bevel Gears with Reduced Transmission Errors

A method for the determination of the optimal polynomial functions for the conduction of machine-tool setting variations in pinion teeth finishing in order to reduce the transmission errors in spiral bevel gears is presented. Polynomial functions of order up to five are applied to conduct the variation of the cradle radial setting and of the cutting ratio in the process for pinion teeth generat...

Optimization of Face-Hobbed Spiral Bevel Gears to Improve EHD Lubrication

In this study, an optimization methodology is presented to systematically define optimal tooth modifications introduced by head-cutter geometry and machine tool settings to simultaneously maximize the EHD load carrying capacity of the oil film and to minimize power losses in the oil film of facehobbed spiral bevel gears. The presented optimization procedure relies heavily on the EHD lubrication...
